Select the boundary of the viewport whose arrangement you want to protect. The viewports will shift according to the order in which the viewports were created. When you use the MVIEW command to create a new layout viewport, you specify the view that you want to display in it with one of several methods: Click the diagonal corners of a rectangular area, and the extents of model space are displayed automatically.

Method 1 Switch to the layout that contains the viewport border that you do not want plotted. On the Object Properties toolbar, click the Layers toolbar button. In the Layers dialog box, click New.

Name the new layer. Click the Freeze Layer icon for the new layer. Click OK to close the dialog box. You can make changes to the viewport, the clipping boundary, or both. Redefine a layout viewport boundary Click a layout tab. Click Layout tab Layout Viewports panel Clip. Select either an existing object to designate as the new viewport boundary, or specify the points of a new boundary. Click OK.

A layout is a 2D working environment for creating drawing sheets. The area within a layout is called paper space, where you can add a title block, display scaled views of model space within layout viewports, and create tables, schedules, notes, and dimensions for your drawing. Layout of drawing sheets The drawing sheet consist of drawing space, title block and sufficient margins. After fixing the drawing sheet on the drawing board, margins should be drawn. The layout should facilitate quick reading of important particulars.

Then, click two points to define a rectangular view from expanded model space. Right click to display a list of scales and click one of them. Click to place the layout viewport on the layout. To adjust the size, shape, and border of the new layout viewport, select the layout viewport and click a size grip one of the corners of the viewport object. To move the layout viewport, click the move grip at the center of the viewport and click a new location.

Alternatively, you can use the Move command. To change the display scale, click the triangular scale grip near the center of the layout viewport.

You can also select the edge of the viewport object, and specify the viewport scale in the Properties palette.
